When you join your local home builders association, you automatically become a member of your state home builders association (NSHBA), and the NAHB.

NSHBA is an open forum for builders and related industry professionals to meet and exchange information about business opportunities, trends, issues and problems. Associate members have opportunities to meet with builders in order to build and sustain positive and profitable relationships. Statewide meetings and events provide a forum to meet, exchange information, become educated on industry issues and to nurture friendships across the state.

Educational seminars and training classes are sponsored by NSHBA and our HBA's to help members comprehend and take advantage of opportunities in today's changing market.

Additional educational opportunities are offered in conjunction with the Home Builders Institute, the educational arm of NAHB. Members can earn a professional designation of Certified Graduate Associate, Certified Graduate Builder, Certified Graduate Remodeler, or Certified New Home Sales Person. Also, a Nebraska Certified Green Builder designation can be earned through participation in the NSHBA State Green Building Program. Become certified and set yourself apart from your competition.

Our members believe that the industry's long term survival and growth depend on high standards of business ethics and quality workmanship for customers, employees, subcontractors and suppliers.

The logo of your local home builders association, as well as the NSHBA and NAHB logos, will add credibility to your business. As a member, you have access to logos for use on your business cards, brochures, display ads, website, signs and vehicles.

Membership gives you a voice in government on the national, state and local level. NAHB has some of the most effective lobbyists in the nation. In 2011 NAHB's lobbying staff fought for our industry on numerous bills in Congress resulting in a $5.7 Billion savings to our members. We get the results that you, as a member, need.

NSHBA has engaged Safety Management, Inc. as our partner in training, education and awareness on OSHA Fall Protection and OSHA regulations. Learn more about how SMI can help you in your business.

As an added NAHB benefit, members have access to discounts and savings opportunities offered by many well known companies. Be sure to visit our Member Advantage affinity program for additional information on these benefits.

NSHBA supports or endorses a range of services for its members at the local, state, and national levels, including:
  • NAHB Legislative Conference - Annual Hill Visits in Washington, D. C.
  • Educational Programs - Local, State and National
  • SMI - OSHA Training, Awareness and Education (New)
  • Member Directory (New)
  • Nebraska Green Build Council
  • Lobbying Efforts - State and National
  • Annual NSHBA Legislative Dinner with Nebraska State Legislators

As a member, you will receive a copy of Builder Magazine, an NAHB publication, which keeps you abreast of industry issues, trends, products, building and economic news from across the country. Email updates on economic news and Legislative Alerts are also sent on a regular basis.

NAHB also has continuous meetings, seminars, webinars and more throughout the year. NAHB has a Spring and Fall Board of Directors meeting in addition to the International Builders Show, the Legislative Conference, and a Remodelers Show.
